By converting the thread standard at the magnet, this piece allows use with 1/4-inch accessories such as holders, plates, and other common mounting hardware. When installed, the adapter introduces approximately 0.34-inch of spacing from the magnet surface, meaning the mounted accessory will not sit fully flush.
